Limehouse Basin
Limehouse Basin, London
20 July 2012
From WikiPedia: “A canal basin is an expanse of waterway alongside or at the end of a canal, and wider than the canal, constructed to allow boats to moor or unload cargo without impeding the progress of other traffic, and to allow room for turning, thus serving as a winding hole. For inland waterways, a basin may be thought of as a land-locked harbour.
“A basin was often associated with wharves around its perimeter, to support commercial users. In modern times, canal basins are more usually used to moor residential and recreational narrowboats.”
Tower Bridge, Olympic Rings, Strobes and Tower Millennium Pier
Tower Bridge, London

All the good spots were either taken or blocked off on the night I visited Tower Bridge so yesterday’s photograph of Tower Bridge was taken from the Tower Millennium Pier. The Pier is on the right; the embankment on the left was closed off.

(I’ll post the pier later this week)
DLR Tunnel
Docklands Light Railway Tunnel, London

Digging into the archive because I need to show the picture to a work colleague; I thought I already had it online.
This is a 0.8 second exposure at ISO 1600 of my train speeding through the London Underground Tunnel.
