A quick look at Friday’s sunset; the 15 second exposure has made the colours much deeper

Bankside, London
30 July 2012
I’ve seen photographs of London Bridges bathed in Colours for the Olympics and I was on my way to photograph one of them. I picked Southwark Bridge tonight because I’ve always liked that bridge but I’ve not got a picture of it that I really liked (I didn’t know Millennium Bridge had nice colours as well).
I passed this view on the way to Southwark Bridge and had to stop for a few pictures.
I got to Southwark Bridge about 8 minutes later but I’d lost the light so I’m going to have to visit again.
The Bridge in the foreground is Millennium Bridge and the light stream is on its way to Southwark Bridge.

The Shard, London
13 July 2012
Same evening as previous picture. Not quite what I was aiming for so I’ll have to reshoot this one. The buses weren’t being picked up by my long exposures; this one was a tourist bus and crawled past me before making a stop and ruining my chances at another go from this location.

We are currently having very wet and cold Summer in London but I managed to catch a bit of sun on Friday evening. This is a 10 second exposure with an ND 10 Filter.

Pool of London (London Bridge, London Bridge Pier, Tower Bridge and The Shard)
20 May 2012
From WikiPedia: “The Pool of London is a part of the Tideway of the River Thames from London Bridge to below Tower Bridge. It was the original part of the Port of London.
“The Pool of London is divided into two parts, the Upper Pool and Lower Pool.
The Upper Pool consists of the section between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, while the Lower Pool traditionally runs from Tower Bridge to the Cherry Garden Pier in Rotherhithe.”

Update: Went out last night (09 July 2012) for colour versions of these images; I wasn’t too impressed with the twilight colours so I will try again later.
